Four games take place in the Championship this week on Tuesday night, games in hand for the eight teams taking part, and a chance to move up the table while everyone else is off. In this one, we've got two teams who are not playing very well at the moment, as Cardiff host Blackburn in Wales.
Cardiff Form GuideIt's been a slow and steady drop down the table for Cardiff, who continue to struggle and while they've dropped a lot, I think this has been a drop to a realistic level, after over achieving in the first half of the season. They come into this game in 14th place, and that puts them right in the middle 11 off the top six and eight above the relegation zone.
But in terms of recent form, they come here on the back of losing three in a row. To make that worse, they've only scored in one of those defeats, and that was at the weekend, a 4-1 defeat away at Norwich. Before that, they lost two games by a score of 2-0, away at West Brom and at home to Preston.
Blackburn Form GuideJohn Eustace is the man in charge of Blackburn are he looks to steer them upwards on the Championship ladder. They are in 17th position, so have four sides below them who are outside of the bottom three, but despite that, are just five points clear of QPR, so while it looks ok now, it could certainly turn bad quite quickly.
But I do think Eustace will be fine, and they come into this game on the back of a good point in a 2-2 draw with local rivals Preston. As long as they keep putting points on the board, even if they come from draws, then Blackburn will be fine come the end of the season.
Match PredictionA game in which I could see these two just cancelling each other out, and for that reason I'll take the draw as my bet. I see both being good enough to avoid defeat, but not good enough to win it.
