We’re in the endgame now, ladies and gentlemen. The Premier League season is entering the final furlong with just a handful of games remaining for clubs up and down English football’s top tier. Whether it be the title race, the relegation battle or anything in between, there’s still a lot left to be determined. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the upcoming clash between Brentford and Fulham.
Brentford Form GuideBrentford are safe in the Premier League for another year but, in truth, that’s more due to the lack of quality below them as opposed to their own success. They’ve struggled to really get a foothold throughout the campaign and that’s especially true in the second half of it. Still, with a few games remaining, their hope will be that they can give themselves some hope for the future.
Brentford only managed a point against Manchester United, Brighton and Aston Villa before popping up with two big wins over Sheffield United and Luton to secure their safety. Last weekend, however, they did slip to a 1-0 defeat courtesy of Everton.
Fulham Form GuideAnother year in the Premier League was always going to be the main aim for Fulham and that’s exactly what they’ve been able to achieve. The Cottagers have quality in their ranks but if they’re going to really start forcing their way further up the league table, they need to think differently - and they need to be a bit more ambitious in the summer transfer window.
Fulham’s one and only win in their last six games was a 2-0 triumph over West Ham. Outside of that, they’ve drawn 1-1 with Crystal Palace, 3-3 with Sheffield United, and been beaten by Nottingham Forest, Newcastle and Liverpool.
Match PredictionWhile this may not be the biggest local derby in London, it’s certainly the kind of encounter that has a bit of history behind it. We feel as if both sides will have a point to prove as we approach the final furlong, but in our view, the most likely outcome for this game is going to be a draw.
